Packaging Tapes

There is often confusion when it comes to buying Packaging tape, with good reason- there are so many different types to choose from. Our simple guide should make things a little clearer.
Packaging tapes can perform differently on different surfaces and conditions:
- If you want to tape paper products in normal conditions then Self Adhesive Kraft Paper or PP (polypropylene) Acrylic Adhesive
- Using tape on Paper in extreme temperature conditions > Then a Hot Melt PP (low cost) or Vinyl (premium)
- Cartons /Cardboard normal > Self Adhesive paper or PP (polypropylene) Acrylic Adhesive
- Cartons /Cardboard extreme temperature > Hot melt polypropylene Hot Melt PP
- Plastics > PP (polypropylene) Acrylic Adhesive, PVC, Solvent polypropylene
- Polythene > PP (polypropylene) Acrylic Adhesive, PVC, Solvent polypropylene
- Acrylic: general purpose, +15 to +65°C temp
- Low noise acrylic: silent release, +15 to +65°C temp
- Hot melt: high grab rubber adhesive, +15 to +50°C temp
- Low noise solvent: silent release, good at low temperatures, -20 to +50°C temp
- Vinyl: premium, high grab, easy tear, also known as PVC tape, -25 to +50°C
